Eltjo van Cingel immigrated at 16 with his parents to Canada. Since 1992, he has been operating a consulting company focusing on soil fertility, crops and water use. He gives presentations in The Netherlands about the Albrecht System on a regular basis.

“After 7 years at a university studying soil science and many analysis, I came to the conclusion that a soil analysis does not tell us enough about the condition of the soil. You should be able to determine the soil fertility, yield and quality of the harvested crop by looking at the soil analysis report” according to van Cingel. “Neal Kinsey was able to show me what was wrong with the soil based on a soil analysis. I was missing this kind of practical aspect with other soil analysis”.

Van Cingel works with a special lab which uses the Albrecht system of soil analysis. “I can only use this method when giving advise. Many labs use averages from thousands of samples to determine the “normal range”. “As a result, deficient soil nutrients would then be regarded as sufficient”, according to van Cingel.

“I can give farmers in the Netherlands advise from a distance. The dutch soil sample is send to a lab in Missouri. The results and my advise will then be send by email to the grower. Twice a year I go to the Netherlands to meet with farmers”.
